Troy introduced the concept of Black Men Experience (BMEX) while he was incarcerated for over two decades. This concept resonates with his own experiences, as the streets became his addiction. Although he doesn’t take pride in it, it’s something he did. There are rules that we all must follow, and since I didn’t adhere to the law, I put myself in situations that led to consequences. I’ve moved on from all street activities and the destruction they caused to my community. BMEX is about loving, supporting, and encouraging each other, and enhancing our lives. I’m not involved in any gangs or gang affiliations. I was born in Oakland, California, and I received a vision that I intend to use for the betterment of my people. I’m committed to ensuring that I never return to prison. I’m constantly growing and learning. I have my commercial driver’s license and have been working as a driver for the past three and a half years. I will listen to you.
